Renault Duster India Launch Expectations
Renault is all set to bring back its popular SUV, the Duster, in a completely new avatar. The new Renault Duster is expected to launch in India by late 2025 or early 2026.
Expected price in India: Much lower than the European price of ₹20 lakh
Renault is aiming to revive its brand image in India, and this all-new Duster could play a crucial role in that mission.
This time, there will be no diesel engine option. Instead, petrol and strong hybrid variants are expected.
Engine Options
1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine
1.6L strong hybrid petrol – with dual motors (one for regeneration, one for drive)
Engine & Driving Experience
1.6L Strong Hybrid Setup
4-cylinder petrol + dual motors
One motor for regeneration, the other for drive
148 Nm torque
e-Save mode conserves battery charge for EV runs
No EV-only button, but starts in EV mode if the battery has charge
Expected Mileage
City: ~20 kmpl
Highway: ~18 kmpl
Ride & Handling
Ground clearance: 217 mm
Unlike the old Duster, this one feels less rugged
New-gen Duster has lighter, less engaging steering
Sharp bumps result in loud thuds (possibly due to Euro-spec tyres)

Final Verdict – What to Expect for India?
Suspension and steering feel less engaging than the older Duster
Renault should:
Localize production in India
