2025 Nissan Micra EV Unveiled: Full Electric Hatchback with Up to 408km Range

2025 Nissan Micra EV

There’s been a lot of talk recently about the legacy of car brands and the significance of that. Well, how about 40 years of the Micra? This car has been on Irish roads for decades. Now, Nissan’s new upcoming electric car, the Micra EV, is back in its sixth generation and this time, it’s fully electric. One of the big advantages of this car is that it’s based on Renault’s Omniverse platform, developed in alliance with Nissan. It’s built on the same platform as the Renault 5 and Renault 4, and we all know how well those cars have performed.

Stylish and Compact Design for City Driving

The design of the Micra EV is quite stylish and modern. It is less than 4 metres long and about 1.8 metres wide. Its compact size makes it perfect for running around town.

The Micra EV will be offered with 14 different colour options, including a two-tone option with a black or grey roof, which makes it look even more stunning.

Also, it gets large 18-inch alloy wheels, which give it a sporty feel. And the most fun feature is when you lock or unlock the car, its LED lights ‘wink’, which is pretty cool.

Spacious Cabin with Multiple Interior Themes

As for the interior, its cabin looks small but is actually quite spacious. It has a wheelbase of 2.54 metres, which gives you a comfortable seating position.

There are three interior themes: Modern, Chill, and Audacious, allowing you to choose a style that suits your preference.

The driver gets a 10.1-inch digital display that shows all important EV-related information, including range. There’s also a second screen for navigation, music, and infotainment.

Micra EV Battery Options and Range

Now let’s talk about its biggest highlight, the electric powertrain.

In the Micra EV, you get two battery options:

  1. First is the 40 kWh battery pack, which offers:
    90 kW power
    225 Nm torque
    308 km range

  2. The second is the 52 kWh battery pack, which delivers:
    110 kW power
    245 Nm torque
    408 km real-world range

So if you need a longer driving range, then the second variant will be the better choice.

The car also has both vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities. It can not only power external devices and appliances but also feed power back into the electrical grid.

The charging port is at the front of the car, making it easier to get into tight charging spaces.

The Micra EV is relatively lightweight, weighing around 1,400 kg with the smaller battery and just over 1,500 kg with the larger one. This makes the car feel more agile and responsive. These weight figures also contribute positively to its range and overall efficiency.

European Launch Confirmed, India Launch Uncertain

By the way, this car is going to be launched in Europe later this year.

However, there is no official information about its launch in India yet.

Still, its compact size and cute design make it an ideal choice for city commuters, especially in urban areas.

So that was the complete information about the upcoming Nissan Micra EV and what it brings in its sixth-generation all-electric avatar. With its stylish design, practical features, and impressive range, it’s a promising urban EV for global markets.
