Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Extreme Could Be Xiaomi’s Fastest EV Yet
Xiaomi is preparing what could be its most extreme performance electric car yet. Fresh spy photos from the Nürburgring show a heavily updated version of the SU7 Ultra that is expected to wear the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Extreme name.
The new prototype looks far more aggressive than the standard SU7 Ultra and appears to have one clear target in mind. It wants to challenge the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Manthey for Nürburgring bragging rights.
The battle between Xiaomi and Porsche has quickly become one of the most interesting rivalries in the EV world. Porsche previously held the Nürburgring lap record for premium production electric vehicles before the SU7 Ultra claimed the title. Porsche later responded by introducing the Manthey Performance Kit for the Taycan Turbo GT and reclaimed the record. Now Xiaomi looks ready with another answer.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Extreme Gets Serious Aerodynamic Changes
The biggest changes on the prototype are its aerodynamic upgrades. Xiaomi’s engineers have redesigned almost every important airflow component to increase downforce and improve high speed stability.
At the front, the prototype features:
- Completely redesigned front bumper
- Larger air intakes
- New front splitter
- Aggressive aerodynamic fins around the bumper
- Front wheel arch louvers
- Hood similar to the original SU7 Ultra prototype
These changes should help direct airflow more efficiently while also improving cooling during high speed track driving.
Giant Rear Wing Steals The Show
The rear section is where the biggest surprise appears.
Instead of using a conventional spoiler, Xiaomi has fitted an enormous twin plane rear wing mounted with swan neck supports. The design closely resembles the setup seen on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
Other visible upgrades include:
- Large GT style rear wing
- Twin plane wing design
- Swan neck wing mounts
- Possible active DRS system
- New rear lip spoiler
- Larger rear diffuser
Together, these upgrades should generate significantly more downforce than the current SU7 Ultra, helping improve cornering speeds around demanding circuits like the Nürburgring.
Will Xiaomi Increase The Power?
At the moment, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether the new model will receive additional power.
The current SU7 Ultra already produces an incredible 1,548 hp from its three electric motors, making it one of the world’s most powerful production electric sedans.
However, Xiaomi revealed a new quad motor electric platform around 18 months ago that is capable of producing up to 2,054 hp.
Whether that platform arrives in the SU7 Ultra Extreme remains unknown. It may first appear in a future flagship two door performance coupe before making its way into the sedan.
Even if power stays unchanged, the extensive aerodynamic upgrades alone could make the car noticeably faster around a race track.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra vs Expected Ultra Extreme
| Feature | SU7 Ultra | Expected SU7 Ultra Extreme |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 1,548 hp | Possibly unchanged or higher |
| Electric Motors | Three | Three or possible quad motor |
| Front Aero | Standard Ultra setup | New bumper, splitter and louvers |
| Rear Wing | Standard performance wing | Large twin plane GT style wing |
| Rear Diffuser | Performance diffuser | More aggressive diffuser |
| Nürburgring Focus | Yes | Even stronger track focus |
Why Nürburgring Matters
The Nürburgring remains one of the toughest proving grounds for performance cars. Manufacturers use the famous German circuit to test handling, cooling, braking and overall durability.
A faster lap time is more than just a number. It demonstrates how well a vehicle performs under extreme conditions.
That is why Xiaomi and Porsche continue pushing harder. Each new record brings valuable attention to their engineering capabilities.
Xiaomi Is Clearly Not Slowing Down
The SU7 Ultra already surprised many established performance brands with its speed. Now Xiaomi appears determined to raise the bar again.
Whether this model officially becomes the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Extreme or receives another name, the extensive aerodynamic package suggests Xiaomi wants another shot at Nürburgring dominance.
The final specifications have not been announced, but testing is already underway. If development continues at this pace, we may not have to wait long before Xiaomi reveals its most extreme production EV yet.
