Tata Harrier EV Launch on June 3 – Expected Price, Range, Features & Rivals

Tata Harrier EV

If you’re planning to buy an electric car, you might want to wait because the launch of the Harrier EV has been officially confirmed. Tata’s new flagship electric SUV, the Harrier EV, is set to debut in India on June 3, 2025. It has already been showcased twice: once at the Auto Expo and again at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, where it appeared nearly production-ready.

Tata Harrier EV Design Overview

The Harrier is already a strong product, and it is expected to perform well as an EV too, given Tata’s long-standing expertise in this field. In terms of exterior design, the Harrier EV closely resembles the regular ICE Harrier. There’s nothing drastically different that will immediately catch your eye. However, up front, it features a completely new grille with an illuminated logo and no air vents. The bumper design is similar to that of the Punch and Nexon, and the headlamp setup remains nearly unchanged. The connected DRLs are the same as those offered on the regular Harrier.

New EV Alloy Wheels and Badging

One notable difference is that the EV variant comes equipped with six parking sensors. The new 19-inch alloy wheels feature aerodynamic EV-style design and are wrapped in MRF Wanderer tyres. The old Harrier badging has been replaced with new EV branding. As for the body structure and dimensions, no significant changes have been made, since this EV is essentially based on the ICE model, with a few futuristic touches.

Harrier EV Interior Features

Inside, the cabin retains the same premium Harrier feel but includes some EV-specific features such as:

  • Self-parking function

  • 360-degree camera

  • Level 2 ADAS

  • Dual-zone climate control

  • Ventilated leatherette seats

  • Large panoramic sunroof

Tata’s First AWD Electric SUV

This midsize electric SUV will debut Tata’s first-generation all-wheel-drive (AWD) EV technology. For enhanced control and off-road capability, it features a dual electric motor setup one motor at the front and one at the rear making it a true 4×4. With this new 4×4 system, the Harrier EV enters the same rugged SUV territory as the Scorpio N.

Power Output and Range

The dual-motor setup is expected to deliver around 500 Nm of torque, with a real-world range of over 500 km. While Tata hasn’t officially revealed the battery specs yet, the battery pack will be larger than the one in the Curvv. The Curvv offers a practical range of around 450 km, so the Harrier EV is likely to offer slightly more. In fact, Tata may even claim a higher official range figure.

Vehicle-to-Load and V2V Charging

The Harrier EV will also offer unique features such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability allowing you to power appliances up to 3 to 4 kVA directly from the car. Additionally, it will support vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, enabling you to charge another EV from your Harrier or vice versa in emergencies.

Harrier EV Expected Price

Pricing is expected to start around ₹25 lakhs and could go up to ₹30–32 lakhs. If Tata manages to launch it at a competitive price, it could disrupt the segment and establish a strong presence.

Rivals and Competitors

While Mahindra’s BE.06 and XUV.e9, as well as MG’s offerings, are already gaining attention, models like the MG ZS and Windsor haven’t made a significant impact yet. The premium EV segment is about to become even more competitive with the Harrier EV, which will rival the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Maruti e-Vitara, Kia Clavis EV, and upcoming ToyotaHonda EVs.
